These freaky funny ala 'Supermarket in California' flowers look brutal at the second glance, ha? And I do understand the disgust one can feel to this tape though I do understand how one can like this disgust. Wow! Stop rising, flower! Emerging electronics raisin is yet wet and full of juicy moonlight. The rebelling spirit of 60s and then 80s with all those post-s and neo-s and then Ed Wood's movies and Italian zombies.. whahh.. all these pictures and smells... aren't they freaky funny? Aren't they freaky fast-minded and dramatic? Aren't they worth contemplating suicide i. e. leaving this pink planet and approaching the red east hiding in all those black holes which really start their lives under your own nails. Check you hands.

This fantastic record was waiting for me too long.. At long last I've uploaded it into my player yesterday. And now I understand that I have to write about it, I have to talk to someone about it, I need to listen to someone talking about it. But there is only silence in my head, the silence that stops when I push the Start button again. It's too beautiful to call it beauty. It's too preterhuman to describe it in words. Just listen to it, OK?

Hobo Cubes - Aerial Nocturnes, Cassette - Digitalis

This tape recently released on Digitalis somehow differs from other HC's works. Actually the strangest thing in this tape is an odd mix of shyness and fury which can be felt on each track. This adds a smack of the craziness to the whole thing. The beats awkwardly protrude from the 5th track only (a fidgeting and aggressive one). The rest of the time HC deploy a limited number of synth lines which thrive and thrive trying to get a shape of incantation. Deep vibrating sound is moving like a hunter stalking an animal. Synth kneading thrusts into slinky minimal vibes.
A dystopian, giddy and sometimes abrupt tape.

Hobo Cubes - Blaze factor, Cassette - NNA tapes

This one is more positive. Here Frank Ouellette places us (and leaves the next moment) on a glass space ship approaching through the void of space. Time disappears and its very notion looses any sense. We're passing by glimmering objects, heaps of unsettled planets and dizzying comets' traces, which look like huge cosmic eels trussing each other. Alki we steep in an abode of zephyrian drones and dispersed synth-falls.
A spiffing tape which made me to linger on it for a couple of hours.
Hobo Cubes is Frank Ouellette. He lives in Montreal, makes tunes and runs cool Hobo Cult records.

These tunes might have appeared as a soundtrack for Dziga Vertov’s ‘A man with a movie camera’ or for a robot manufacturing documentary. Washed up product eats consumers. The impure vibes gropingly move through the dwindling space, stumbling across cryptic signs and crashed&crusty machines. This teetery and perplexing tape possesses quite a restless frame. Computerized world is on the edge of the abyss.
Excellent electromagnetic hymn.
